Other Injectable Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

These injectable filling agents have surged in popularity. They are very effective at treating facial wrinkles (forehead, between the eyebrows, the nasolabial folds [laugh lines], vertical upper and lower lip wrinkles, the depressions at the corners of the mouth, and wrinkles on the cheeks). They work well in conjunction with BOTOX® and can be used to improve depressed scars, inflate the lips, enhance the cheeks and chin, and even improve some irregularities along the nose.

Juvederm®

This family of hyaluronic acid fillers includes Juvederm® Ultra and Juvederm® Ultra Plus (Ultra Plus has a larger particle size better suited to deep wrinkles). Treatments last up to a year and in some cases longer. I like Juvederm® around the mouth and in the lips because it has a soft feel.

Restylane®

The Restylane® family of hyaluronic® acid fillers includes Perlane® (Perlane® has a larger particle size for deeper wrinkles). Dr. John M. Sarbak prefers Restylane® for wrinkles that have been present for a while, because he believes it to have a firm quality that provides better structure. He also likes the way that Restylane® behaves when placed along the junction between the lower eyelids and the cheeks. Injections in this area can improve the tired appearance of your lower eyelids.
