Latisse® and DCL

Latisse®

Latisse® is the first and only FDA approved (December 2008) prescription treatment for “inadequate or not long enough lashes, growing them longer fuller and darker.” It is derived from a medication that was initially formulated to treat increased pressure within the eye (a condition that could lead to glaucoma).

Dr. John M. Sarbak’s patients have been extremely happy with this one of a kind medication.

Note: some people will take longer than others to respond, but Dr. Sarbak has yet to see a patient in which this medication does not work.

DCL

Research is starting to show that the ingredients that you can’t readily pronounce in sunscreens can actually be converted into hormone derivatives and cause some unintended effects once they enter your bloodstream. Currently the “reflective” agents: titanium and zinc are the only ones that Dr. Sarbak recommends. DCL contains both and is pleasantly waterproof. It also spreads out nicely to avoid looking like your lifeguard’s nose. It took Dr. Sarbak six years to find this product, and he uses it regularly.

There is new information coming out about the potential unfavorable effects of parabens which are found in almost every cream on the market. “Stay tuned,” Dr. Sarbak will keep you abreast of the latest developments.
