Is NeoGraft Hair Transplantation Right for Me?

Man ResearchingThe NeoGraft™ hair transplant procedure can be a highly beneficial solution for people who are unhappy with thinning or balding hair. However, while this advanced technique can provide beautiful results for many people, it is not right for everyone.

To have a successful NeoGraft™ hair restoration procedure, the patient must have adequate donor sites. The donor site needs to have enough density so that after the hair follicles have been harvested, there is a reasonable thickness of hair created by the remaining follicles in the area. At this point, it can simply be a numbers game and is inherently related to what the patient is trying to achieve in terms of coverage in the transplanted areas. If a person has already had an open excision technique from a previous procedure, there is still a good possibility that NeoGraft™ can be utilized. It can even improve the site from which the hair was taken. There are also certain medical conditions that we look for during each initial patient evaluation that could make the procedure unsuccessful and as a result unadvisable.

For patients who are not good candidates for NeoGraft™, there are alternatives that can potentially help promote hair growth, including minoxidil topical application, finasteride oral pills, and LED treatments; patients can also benefit from hair nourishing vitamins like Viviscal. Should these not prove beneficial, hairpieces are also an option.
